Guava are sweet with their own unique flavour – they can be compared somewhat to pear. Pink guava have soft sweet flesh which is considered sweeter than that of white guava.

They are wonderfully aromatic and, when ripe, can fill the room with their fragrant scent!

Throughout the seasons we source pink flesh guava from various regions in the world. The Indonesian and Colombian guava are particularly renowned for their sweet aroma.

Our frozen pink guava pieces are intended to be used to impart the delicious flavour of this variety into your cooking and drinks making (ice cream, cocktails etc). After defrosting the pink guava will be soft, therefore we don’t suggest ordering these for eating straight out of hand.

If delivered by our usual overnight courier, the frozen pink guava pieces will defrost or part-defrost in transit. This will cause the flesh to be soft upon arrival.

Colombia, Indonesia, Mexico or St Lucia.
Preparation
Leave to ripen at room temperature or warmer. Once the fruit has started to soften and the aroma is stronger, the fruit is ready to be washed and eaten. The fruit may be eaten whole or the seeds and skin can be discarded.
Usage
Fresh: wash the entire guava, as the rinds are actually edible. Using a knife, slice your guava in half or into thinner slices. You can either eat the whole guava (rind and all) or scoop out the insides. Either way, you’re in for a delicious treat. Some people like to put seasonings on their guavas like soy sauce, salt, sugar, or even vinegar.
Frozen: use in the same way as the fresh fruit!
Storage
Fresh: store at room temperature.
Frozen: store in refrigeration and use within a few days, or refreeze immediately upon delivery and use within a few weeks.
